Their Carnitas is excellent but their Chicharrones is the best I've had in decades. When I was a kid in East Los, my neighbors would make the old fashion Chicharrones, the kind with the meat and fat, deep fried.... Since then, this is the only place I've found that has the real deal. It's not the puffy, packing material stuff you get in the market, It is the real deal!

Not much to look at, but outstanding food. The carnitas plate is loaded with meat, 2 tortillas, nice rice and beans, a lime slice, some cilantro sprigs, and tomato and white onion pieces. For 7$..!!!!!! It also serves beer in it's tiny dining room. Service is fast, lots of customers sometimes so you may have to wait. OR get your order to go at the tiny drive up window, OR call in your order and take it home to enjoy.

Ok, this place is one of those secrets hidden in plain view between Denny’s and a gas station. Sampled the carnitas, to extreme satisfaction with nothing else. That says volumes. I had a green chilaquiles burrito that was hot, cheesy gooey melt in your mouth great, with super crispy French fries in it. My wife ate her favorite breakfast burrito, California with cheese, though she missed most of the cheese she was still satisfied. I’m all ready trying to figure out an excuse to come back before we leave tomorrow. This is just too good to miss.

Still great carnitas, even though they moved from their old Lemon Grove location to a mostly take out location.

Eating here is like eating at my grandma’s house. The food is so authentic. The service is fast and friendly. You can order ahead and pick up att he drive thru.
